Open Fire Bans Lifted

There are currently no open fire bans in effect for the Cariboo Fire Center.  Open fire are permitted throughout the Cariboo Fire Center area as of noon on Sept. 3, 2013; but the Wildlife Management Branch is asking the public to remain vigilant with any type of fire use, including open burning and campfires.  If you are planning to do any large-scale industrial burning or conducting a grass burn over 0.2 hectares (Category 3 fires), you must obtain a burn registration number ahead of time by calling 1-800-797-1717.  Also,  venting conditions should always be checked before conducting an open burn.  The venting index can be found at:  www.env.gov.bc.ca/epd/epda/venting/venting.html.
